The real reason they are scared of the humanities is that they teach empathy and empathy is dangerous to empire.

Perfectly said. This reminds me of a quote someone said a while back “you all forgot about Iraq and soon you’ll forget about Palestine” it shattered me. But I know the world will remember.

It’s all connected. The bombs over Gaza, the destruction in Sudan, the looting of Congo. It’s the same culprits, and the same system. These ‘poor countries’ of the Global South are the same nations whose wealth sustains the very existence of the Western world.
