It gets lost in the shuffle, but the Speaker of the House is someone who, by all rights, should’ve had his career ended a decade ago by a Shreveport TV news investigative team.

Fond memories of that time Mike Johnson was president of a local law school that never opened its doors, in part because it was attached to a Baptist college that was losing its accreditation, and in part because it was always a scam from the start

  1. Makes one wonder where his non-existent bank account 'income & expenditures' come from. Does simply write it on a ahem cocktail napkin invoice?

  2. It’s almost adorable to look back to 2016 and see Trump scraping the bottom of the barrel for his VP and other senior staff, to find anyone even moderately qualified…and to see how he’s had to go 5 layers deeper into shit since then, with no one approaching qualified willing to go near him now.

  3. I heard someone refer to him as a former law professor last night and I was surprised.

But NOW I’m wondering if it was a sly reference to this.

    Heh.

  4. You really need a competitive resume of failure to reach the top of MAGA world. Being a garden variety fuckup just won't cut it.

  5. In my lifetime, the only Republican I can think of who had anything resembling real integrity was John McCain. You could put a gun to my head and I still wouldn’t be able to come up with another name. There's not a statesman among them. Not a single impressive intellect.

  6. It was also a very weird (read: terrible) time to think about trying to open a law school. Said notional law school was also named after someone later credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. So.

I don't get how anyone hears the story the story about the kid he "unofficially adopted" before ditching without coming to the conclusion that Johnson is more likely than not a child molestor.

  8. Trump is a narcissistic psychopath & criminal & here's my prediction: He will overreach with corruption & crimes.

He can't not commit crimes as criminality is his nature.

If Dem control the House they will hold him accountable by impeachment a 3rd time.

  9. I’m tempted to say that we are in an era of unprecedented corruption and incompetence, but then I realized that I’d probably get “well, actually”ied by an historian.

  10. I know it's a wild conspiracy-type question, but is Mike Johnson somehow in the Epstein files? Or, what personal secret is he trying to hide? His behavior has to be more than just trying to hold onto power, especially as the writing on the wall is so negative for Trump now and GOP are breaking away.

  11. Mike Johnson is the kind of guy who gets elected because he's sort of handsome and is named "Mike Johnson."

He reminds me of Janice Hart and Mark Fairchild, the two Lyndon Larouche followers who won the Democratic primaries in 1986 because people voted for the candidates with the "nice names" …

Wasn’t that law school also named after the architect of the SBC conservative revolution who was pretty widely known to abuse teenage boys and young men?

  13. How does it get ignored that a Louisiana lawyer with a Russian wife laundered Kremlin money to put Mike Johnson in Congress, AFTER Mother Jones reported on it & while he continued to block aid to Ukraine at Trump’s explicit orders as Speaker till we forced his hand w a discharge petition last April?

  15. Oh! It’s no wonder Mike Johnson has become a leader in the “scammiest” administration in U.S. history.

Republicans once called themselves the "Moral Majority". It's become disgustingly obvious that they're just a bunch of corrupt perverted crooks.

  17. What does it say about Democrats that this wasn’t investigated by the Biden DOJ?

Is it that there’s just so much Maga criminality that even a multibillion dollar budget can’t handle it all?

Or do they just not get that if you want an honest society you have to prosecute those who aren’t?

  18. His national coverage was pretty devastating too and that Appeal to Heaven flag is still outside his door.

But I guess we all are supposed to be blow past that.

  19. wow, looks like he and the orange goblin have a lot in common…both had fake schools, lie all the time, obnoxious and void of charisma...

  20. Does he still claim to not have a bank account? If I had his expenses and no bank account I’d have the whole alphabet investigating me.

  21. Now, now, it's unfair to single out Mike Johnson.

"Should've had their career ended a decade ago because of their unethical or illegal activity" could apply to ANYONE in the administration.

  22. I'm still not over the fact that he doesn't have a bank account. Huh? Is he taking his paychecks to QuickCash? Does he pay for everything in cash? How has nobody investigated this further?

  23. I still think at least once a week about how he got away with saying “oh I ain’t got no bank accounts, I’s just humble country folk” and everyone just nodded like “hmm, ok, seems legit”

  24. Let's just assume that, like Trump, everything coming out of Mike's mouth is, and always has been, a lie. That's why he was chosen, they don't pick any other kind.

  25. Mike Johnson and Trump can share stories about how they ran scam schools. I knew there must be a reason why Trump likes Johnson.
