  1. The @kiel.institute’s #Ukraine tracker is something you can lose yourself in forever, so fascinating is its data.

Thankfully Kjeld managed to look away from it to do a write up on NATO’s PURL, “a kind of transaction account” for military aid.

  2. Interesting update of the Ukraine Tracker from the @kiel.institute - showing both that Europe has overtaken the US in overall military aid to Ukraine, and that the majority of new aid now comes from (European and Ukrainian) defence industry, rather than stockpiles:

In May and June 2025, Europeans maintained a consistently high level of support to Ukraine, particularly with regard to military aid. A significant proportion of the weapons provided no longer come fr...

  5. Climate finance is stuck—pledges aren’t matching contributions, especially for low- & middle-income countries (LMICs). A new Kiel Working Paper in cooperaton with @pik-potsdam.bsky.social flips the script: it’s in the EU’s own interest to act. Not charity. Part of our Mutual Interest ODA project 👇

“Governments face shrinking fiscal space and must find funding for international climate finance," says PIK director #Edenhofer. Smaller coalitions of countries with targeted levies could help solve the problem without extra cost to consumers, he adds. New report! www.pik-potsdam.de/en/news/late...

  6. #KITE Insta-Analysis: US-EU Deal – very uneven effects across member states!

Winners include Malta (+0.5% real production), Cyprus and Slovakia (both +0.2%), while Ireland (–0.9%), Luxembourg (–0.7%) and Belgium (–0.3%) lose substantially.
