‘Science’ is a tricky word…. ‘Empiricism’ means something like using the five senses God gave to 17th/18th-century European gentlemanly-humans-w/-wigs (+ technical argumentation of those senses w/ the advance of technological modernity) to collect observational data about reality,

Fixing the disability through careful personal grappling w/ 'science' has now turned me extremely – I, daresay, almost violently – ambitious & competitive (but I like to think still 'nice') so I guess we'll see....
