I’ve heard from a lot of people at CDC in the last day and a half. Not one was surprised at the attack.

Four CDC buildings shot up. Employees under lockdown and in fear for hours. Public health is physically under attack, and the silence from the administration is deafening.
Multiple injured victims being transported to Emory hospital, just up the street. The injured police officer is going to Grady, which is downtown, probably a 10-15 minute ride away.
It’s unclear to me right now whether that civilian was the shooter or someone else.
News outlets are reporting that one police officer was shot and is being taken to a nearby hospital.
They’re also reporting one civilian shot.
The shooting took place very near a strip of sidewalk where people gather to display signs in support of the CDC on a semi-regular basis
Per a report on citizen.com, the shooter is now shot and “down”
Unclear whether the shooter is on campus.
Also unclear whether there are casualties, although I’m hearing reports that some staff were hit by glass shards from bullet impact on windows.
This is occurring at the Clifton Road campus, CDC’s main offices.
CDC staff returned to office by federal mandate in February.
