i'm generally skeptical of Big Three crossovers- hamburger hotdog stinks, and hamburger pizza is mid at best- but Pizza Hotdog actually shows a lot of promise. this space needs more research and development

footie scran pic from nottingham forest FC of a 7 pound pizza dog, with respectable crust leoparding and nice sear on the sausage. scran for sure

  1. The pizza shop i worked in in college did a decent pizza burger. The trick was letting the pizza cool enough to keep the cheese stuck to the dough.

    Weed might have helped, too.

P.S. A pizza Americana in Kotor, Montenegro, is just a cheese pizza with hot dog slices.

  2. All you have to do is go to Great American Ball Park and suffer through a Reds game to taste the "Skyrosa" - a Skyline chili dog on top of a slice of LaRosa's pizza.

  3. i was actually thinking about the inverse of this at one point, a pizza with hot dog slices (kind of like pepperoni) and other hot dog toppings as well, i havent been brave enough to bring it into the world yet though

  4. the Technically Italian hot dog (Italian sausage on ciabatta with pesto) has always worked for me

“hamburger hotdog stinks” and hotdog hamburger is somehow worse

  6. the thing about this is that i actively went looking for it when my partner and i attended a match at city ground and COULD NOT FIND IT. maybe they only have it in one stand, or in some VIP section? we weren't early enough to do a full circumnavigation. i wanted to scoff the pizza dog!!

  7. Of course the answer was right in front of my eyes! The pizza is the bun! I’ve tried this crossover in the past rolling the hot dog into the crust like cheese in a stuffed crust pizza to mixed results (cant fold the slice)

  8. The most promising innovation in hot dog delivery since the introduction of the Korean Corn Dog. Lives could be changed; The course of civilization altered

  9. They are close to achieving a ‘turducken’ of fast vend foods

Hotdog stuffed in pizza is close

Cheese stuffed hotdog, wrapped in bacon, stuffed in a calzone, deep fried in batter & now we have something

    Call the Scottish

  10. The Round Rock Express have an all beef hot dog on a grilled cheese Sammie for a bun and it's the most amazing thing I've ever had at a game.

  11. Shoot me if you will but scotch egg pizza fusion (slice the scotch egg.) If I'm still alive, haggis pizza fusion (Scottish fish and chip shops do battered haggis sausages, they're to die for. OK, which one of you mthrfkrs shot me?)

  12. Hamburger pizza is mid cause everyone keeps trying to put the hamburger on top of the pizza

The true innovation hasn't happened yet: putting the pizza into the burger

I would 100% eat that. I've had pizza gyro before and it was enjoyable

  14. So my wife's grandma makes these "pizza burger" things that are extremely Midwest White-coded but absolutely hit the spot like two times a year.

  15. Interesting. The pizza place in Montpelier used to do fish tacos - fully fried fish and everything - with a pizza dough as the taco. I'm not sure why they stopped. I was getting those once a week in law school

  16. My college-age self would call bullshit on you, as the cheeseburger big bite existed and was my savior on many a drunken night. But my heart knows you’re probably right.

  17. tubular hamburger combined with the durability of a pizza bun would be cool. i feel the main issue with hamburger hotdogs is the necessary condiments cause the flimsy hotdog bun to disintegrate.

  18. Cured sausage on pizza is known to be good, so the questions are whether frankfurter is a better pairing for tomato/mozz than pepperoni or italian sausage, and whether keeping the sausage whole is better than having many small pieces. I don't think I'm taking Pizza Hotdog's side on those questions.

  19. If you want to get sicko with it, there is a Cincinnati delicacy called a Skyrosa. You wrap a skyline cheese coney with a piece of Larosas pizza. These restaurants are not together so you have to do it somewhere like a Reds game or Kings island with quick access to both

  20. intrigued, scran as is, but could benefit w. sauce options imo like mustard instead of tomato sauce...maybe some chili & onions for a pizza coney dog. very nice
