There has been a monumental shift in America over the last 8 years: Key institutions are accommodating and adapting to Trump, rather than challenging him. Trump is more aggressive than before, yes, but his authoritarian tendencies were fully on display then, too.
Yes, they’re under pressure. But maybe a lot of these leaders kinda like what Trump’s doing. Just remember: They were defeated once before.
