I defs relate to this! A framework that’s been helpful to me is valuing the work of self-soothing more? Like, that part of this is I feel like I should be scared in order to fix myself, but in fact, I’m better at dealing with things when I’m calm so it’s good to think thoughts that are calming

I feel like this is making it sound weirder than it is? When I’m engaged in an interesting task, thoughts absolutely fall away and I’m just doing the thing. Toothbrushing isn’t very interesting, so maybe there’s a threshold difference, which is interesting, but isn’t this just flow?

I’m such a fan of the title “I Bury the Living” for a movie where no living people ever get buried. We know, as an audience, that one of the characters regularly buries people alive, but the movie will never tell us which. The old gravedigger would be too obvious. Maybe the wife?

Somewhere in these walls is a version of Hamlet where instead of Hamlet he’s named Hamfarts. I will not rest until it has been eliminated.
