I think I had to explain this to 5 different people around town that asked me about it. And each time they gave me ”but how do you know?”
To which I then had to give them a lengthy explanation of the different attack patterns and profiles of such.
Color me shocked!
Shocked, shocked I tell you.
There's an organisation here in the UK that was significantly hit by a 'cyber incident' a few years back that has never outright itself said that it was the ransomware it clearly was.
That's despite the NCSC stating it was ransomware in their annual report...

This was one of those deals where someone clicked they should not have, right?
