I find it a bit odd sonic fans are constantly feeling the need to make "definitive" versions of the genesis games when no one really does this with any other franchise to that extent. Like tbh if Im gonna play sonic 1 Id rather not play it with a bunch of tacky additions the game wasnt designed for.

The only improvement I think is worth getting is the Spindash ability, other than that, I agree with you.

i feel this way a bit with the 3D games. 06 made /some/ sense with how universally hated it was, but like several games that had not-insignificant sized fanbases actively defending now just turn heel and "fix" them like???
