I think you’re absolutely spot-on. I think sometimes that the vitriol directed at someone deemed as the “other” who does not “know their place” is not just punishment for them, but a warning to others not to step out of line.

Haters only win when the lovers don't show up. Just because there may be one issue/stance that you disagree with or are afraid of, we MUST vote blue no matter who (until/if we get past this failed 2-party system).
