Art criticism has moved beyond this type of thinking. "Death of the Author" (Artist) and audience interpretation are both argued for. Not everyone agrees, but yea, this is much too strong a statement for the state of art today.

No art theft is taking place. AI art is trained on art in the same way a human artist is - by looking at many examples. No art is lost, taken from others, or stored within it. If a piece is plagiarized, we should handle that as we do human forgery.

I understand where people are coming from, but just like photography wasn't seen as an 'art' at first, there will be artists who use AI to make great, intentional art. The 'imperfect mistakes' can be seen often when working with AI, where an odd word or phrase can create a completely new direction.
