  2. Corruption at every level and no guardrails to stop it...how are all you non-voters feeling about all this rampant crime the government is doing? You okay with all this?

  3. More maga theater. Texas GOP is threatening fines, lawsuits & arrests over Dems breaking quorum.

History says: Nah! Nice try, not a chance!! Courts won’t back expulsions.

Maybe they can expect lost pay (doubtful) & political heat, not removals.

This ends in a deal, not a purge. End of show.

  6. The criminal is an AG. See how it works in the US? Next you will find out your president is a pedophile and Republicans are bribe takers. You going to let them rig your government and kidnap your loved ones? Are you.

  10. Let me just double check this...

GOP can leave DC in order to aid the coverup of a child rapist. That's fine.

Dems can not leave TX in order to save democracy. That's expulsion or jail.

OK. I think I understand now. Fascism.

  13. Let me get this straight. The Republican AG is asking the court to remove the Dems from office because the Dems are trying to stop the Republicans from illegally changing their voting maps.

So they are asking the court to let them break the law?

Heh. Funny country we live in.

  14. Quorum breaking is specifically allowed by the Texas Constitution. It’s been used since the 1870s. No surprise that a criminal like Ken Paxton would choose to ignore the law. 🙄

  15. How is this legal? These are duly elected Democratic State Legislators....they're going to have to have new elections. How remarkedly ignorant!

    0
  16. They're allowed to break quorum to prevent votes and can only be charged 500 dollars a day, the seat can be considered abandoned by higher courts in Texas but it's unlikely because of the Texas constitution.

  20. Paxton has dodged more bullets than a Wild West outlaw: securities fraud, impeachment, federal probes etc. But in the court of public opinion, his divorce could be the scandal that finally sticks. Angela’s not just his wife; she’s a fellow Nazi politician & hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

  25. How are american voters reacting to this? Have they written and called the offices of the republican reps to ask that they not remove their legally elected officials?

  26. #AGKPaxton didn’t wasted anytime taking action trying to remove Democrats from Office. Yet, he still hasn’t done anything about the Jan6 insurrectionists Republican that are still holding their jobs … that’s who needs to get out of jobs not Democrats doing the work people are asking them to do .

  27. I can’t understand how so many lawyers in the US are helping politicians break the law and the American bar association isn’t disbarring anyone yet. What is wrong with that group?

    1
  28. The big question, assuming the actual law matters: clearly if these people just abandoned their position they ought to be removed from office. What would be the process and burden of proof if they had just gone to, say, Cancun? And how is that different from this form of conscientious objection?

  29. We live in the Age of We Say So. Whether it is Texas GOP, national (Trump), Nuttin Yahoo in Israel, laws be damned. Courts move so slow we will be on to a hundred other things by the time the case goes to court. Until they change all the judges. How’s Your day going?

    1
  30. Offhand I would say the judicial branch should not be able to remove a member of the legislative branch.

    But hey, Texas?

  33. After law school and passing my States Bar I was sworn in, took an oath to hold up the Constitution of the United States. At this point it means nothing. It seems there is no legal action to strip a schmuck like Paxton and the whole lawyer deck of this fake administration of their bar cards.

  34. Where are the Texans? I thought Texans prided themselves on fight. Underdog fight. Like the Alamo. Instead, they're cucking for a gold-plated, east coast city slicker. A loud mouthed, fast talking, snake oil salesman out of New York City! WTF?

  35. If they’re forcibly removed from their seats, I can only imagine the uproar that would come from their constituents. There would probably be a lot of protests in cities like Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

  36. Has anyone asked Paxton lately about the "biblical grounds" for divorce? Why not ask him about the time he fled from home to avoid a subpoena?
