My son Griffin knew that "Car 54, Where Are You?" is one of my all-time favorite comedies & drew this for my birthday. The likenesses of Fred Gwynne & Joe E. Ross are absolute perfection & he even included the theme song! I treasure it as one of my most prized possessions.

Thanks Griff ๐Ÿ™

  6. I had a neighbor in the 1960s a few doors away who briefly had a cow named "cow 54". My parents let him graze on our clover lawn!

  9. That's a super-keeper! I too have been a fan and would have recognised those two. The absence of a key element from the sketch begs the question: Car 54, where are you?

  15. Thatโ€™s amazing. Now I have to find somewhere to watch it. Me and my 9 year old grandson have bonded watching Andy Griffin Show. Of course Barney is our favorite.

  18. I saw Fred Gwynne in The Last Meeting of the Knights of the White Magnolia, maybe at the Kennedy Center in 1976. I remember his his 6'5" frame packed into a wheelchair, his deep voice filling the theater. He was more of an actor than the popular roles, for which he is remembered.

  19. Oh my goodnessโ€”my husband and I were listening to Pavarotti singing Pagliacci yesterday and laughing about how Toody would act out the famous aria, complete with clown makeup. What a fabulous, hilarious show

  20. There are few things more more gratifying than for a child to love you enough to care about something that matters to you and then take the time to honor it. It's so much easier just to buy a Hallmark, and while appreciated, it means so much less.
