UPDATE: Black VRA plaintiffs have now filed their response.
The long and short of their argument: Unless appeals go forward now, there is a danger new maps aren't in place in time for Louisiana's 2027 legislative elections.

Louisiana has asked the 5th Circuit to stay the deadline for filing a motion for rehearing in the legislative redistricting case citing the upcoming re-argument in Callais. If granted, this would also extend the time for seeking cert.
