There is a stink emanating from the House of Reps created by the refusal of Johnson to swear in Rep-Elect Adelita Grijalva. Very reminiscent of the stench that rose from the Senate in 2016 when McConnell refused to hold a hearing re Obama’s nominee for Supreme Court.Someone please file a law suit.

Replies

  1. That stink started long before this. This is just the most current and one of the most outrageous actions or no actions by Johnson.

  2. Agreed. Johnson doesn't speak for anyone but Trump..Hopefully his constituents see what a waste he is as speaker and they vote him out. No Kings USA. No Tyranny

  3. I appreciate the reminder not to white-wash Mitch McConnell and what he did as Senate Leader in his final days as a living human being.

Fuck that guy. May he live in eternity with the knowledge of how badly he fucked up

  4. Regardless of whether or not a President is sworn in, their term begins regardless. Does it work the same for Congress?

  5. There is a BIG difference. Her position is not a nomination, she won in an election and was voted in by the people. This should be illegal. It’s taxation without representation . If she is not voted in,

  6. Here is what Mikey is trying and soon failing to avoid: He swears in Adelita Grijalva, She becomes the 218th signature to release Epstein files, Trump is publicly named in the documents, The phone call comes from the King Baby saying, "Mike, You're Fired!" This is the real reason for the shutdown.

  7. McConnell should have been impeached for refusing to do his sworn duty... Dem's should at least try to censure Johnson for refusing to do his sworn duty!

  8. Big difference.

Grijalva is entitled to be sworn in. Not to mention the probable motive for not swearing her in is horrific.

But no nominee is entitled to a hearing.

  9. Where we are at is exactly what Mitchie put into place. He owns the destruction of our democracy and the removal of law and order.

  10. There should not be a Senate or a Supreme Court or even a presidency. Try that on for size!

  11. The House Clerk, or a Supreme Court Justice can swear her in. They are making a bunch of nonsense drama. The Weasel of the House should never be asked again to swear in any Democrat.

  12. What about the lady who refused to allow an orderly transfer to the Biden administration after he won in 2020? I hope she saw consequences for her actions.

    1
  13. Yes unlike 2016 there was an end date. Are they not going to swear her in for a few years? They are working MTG and that bimbo from CO. What's her name? Bobart? One or both will fold.

Bigger stink in senate with Schumer holding the government hostage for illegals

  15. That stink is coming from Mike Johnsons car. It reeks from those Epstein files rotting in the trunk next to the dead hooker and what used to be a live boy

  16. This topic is on my poster tomorrow. She is vote #218 regarding the release of the Epstein files.

  17. Democrats in Congress you have to force Mike Johnson to swear on AZ new Senator Adelina Grijalva. Her constituents voted for her to represent them in DC.

    DO SOMETHING NOW!

  18. It's clearly illegal and unconstitutional. Consult Article I of the Constitution, and the Supreme Court in Powell v. McCormack, for details.

  19. There is not going to be a lawsuit because they won't reopen the govt. ICE is going to absorb these agencies, and lack of action by congress is going to be justification to neuter it (congress) further. He already established precedent by pulling funds for payroll. This isn't normal business.

  20. What would be the point? It will end up in your Supreme Court who will ignore all constitutional norms and precedents and side with Johnson anyways.

  21. So, now Democrats are upset that Republicans are doing to them what they've done to Republicans in the past? 😂😂😂😂

The Democrats have to learn you can’t fight these scumbags by playing by the rules. Rules mean zip to Johnson and his ilk. When we get the power back we must get creative.

  23. If a conservative, Republican inhabits any house, as the House of Reps, or the Senate, or any other house, then, yes, a stink will emanate from it. A big stink. No getting around that. That's the smell of moral and intellectual rot. Of greed, dishonesty, chicanery, corruption.

  24. Politicians who are NOT doing their job but just REFUSE to do their job should be KICKED out of their job!

    Get rid of them!

    Kick them out of office!

  25. Sadly, both may work. We know McConnell was able to take a Supreme Court seat without much fuss. No one did anything but complain.

  26. And they won. Hope that doesn’t happen again those who are not upholding constitution needs to be removed from office!!!!

  27. The Constitution and the normal processes of this government have never meant anything to Republicans unless they gain from from subverting them. The Constitution has been in their way since King Richard Nixon was anointed their deranged savior and ever since then they've been hollowing it out.

  28. I know there are lawsuits being prepared, but this is governed by internal House rules.

I’m not sure there is anything to be done. The judicial branch cannot order the legislative branch around.

    AMEN TO THAT!!!

Forget "congressional decorum" or whatever it's called, it is time to file for ABUSE OF OFFICE, and whatever else a good attorney can come up with...

  30. Release the Epstein files. Also little Johnson what’s your Grindr nickname? Asking for a friend.

  31. It sure seems that they, the GOP, are making a sport out of corruption.

See the pardon of George Santos as proof positive.

  32. The last I heard there are 200 lawsuits pending against Trump and congress, as usual the legal system struggles to cope with it. As noted this is The McConnell Ploy Part Two.

  33. They were in session today? From what I gather they are now working at home until the 26th?

  35. At this point America is a failed state masquerading as a democracy. I still dont understand how America functions with this system.

  36. Hooray ! - I, a total unknown whose words will remain unseen, wrote a post on this. But it was to ask how come the Speaker has such untrammeled power. I WANT TO UNDERSTAND !!!

  37. On the bright side, Rep-elect Grijalva has been given national exposure by the GOP, something a million dollars couldn’t buy. Keep talking Adelita!

  38. DC must smell like a manure compost pile in NOLA in mid-July about now from all tiny hands & tiny wormhole’s bullshit. Must be ghastly for 8th grad field trips…

  39. But Mitch had discretion=immunity. This is non-discretionary and ministerial, so Mike has no immunity from a challenge to make him act (injunctive relief)

  40. We stay in our political boxes

The only ones filing anything are doing it on their own with The People paying for our own + Congress inaction after oversight & NO LAWS for us+Executive & SCOTUS abuse+all lawsuits settled in Civil Court+all dropped Criminal cases+all falsely accused Criminal cases

  41. And sue MIkey Moses Johnson personally. Take his offshore bank account money. Take all his pornhub money. Take it all. Or -- he could do his damn job.

    0
  42. One person should not have total control over The House. Period. Johnson has refused to bring several bipartisan bills to a floor vote. That is denying us representation

    0
  43. And Johnson should note that we are still calling McConnell on the carpet for that move. People don't forget.

  44. Maybe if they the dems would quit trying to give Healthcare to illegals they could end the Shumer Shitdown and get it done.

  45. Lawsuits will not stop this. A vote will not stop this. Protests will not stop this. At some point, people will have to rise up. Who knows if America has it in them.

  46. There should be a plan B. This guy has been rogue since 2022. Get creative lawmakers - ya look weak and ineffective

    0
  47. I think there’s one surfacing among her constituents.

They are not fully represented; she doesn’t have an equipped, staffed, functioning office — that’s why Johnson has pivoted to “she can work.”

Y’all realize that the shutdown has to last until after the Nov4th elections, right?

    0
  48. I loathe that man so much. McConnell is the reason that we have Trump and the most effed up SCOTUS. There is surely a special place in Hell for him.

  49. May Mike Johnson also start suffering from frequent falls and absence seizures...

  50. I think we are missing the bigger picture. What if this is all part of the Republican plan to never swear in ANY elected Democrat? If it is somehow legal to not swear in Adelita Grijalva, why not the same for ANY democrat? This could be one of the end game ideas the GOP has for keeping power.
