There is a stink emanating from the House of Reps created by the refusal of Johnson to swear in Rep-Elect Adelita Grijalva. Very reminiscent of the stench that rose from the Senate in 2016 when McConnell refused to hold a hearing re Obamaβs nominee for Supreme Court.Someone please file a law suit.
I'm curious why no federal judge has stepped up to swear her in. Any number of sworn in officials can do it. It doesn't have to be Mikey Johnson, and it's not necessarily up to just him.

It was necessary before they got the election certification. Now he is also withholding clearance & funds for her staff; he needs to be sued. The AG will be filing the suit on Monday morning. She gave him 48 hours, so she had to wait until 5 pm AZ time on Friday. This is what Adelita said tonight.

They haven't because they may notβthey have no inherent authority to do so.
Only the Speaker, or someone whom the House has designated by resolution, may swear in Reps-elect. That's it. The Constitution, a federal statute, and House precedents are clear on this.
