"Is there a reason of going up and down the escalator repeatedly?"

Zeteo's @premthakker.bsky.social follows HSI and FBI agents as they go after... fare evaders in DC. And gets into a bit of a debate with a police sergeant.

  1. Massive police, FBI, and military presence in order to go up and down the escalator and to apprehend a 'dangerous' criminal doing fare evasion. Wow, the people of DC are sooo much safer as a result. Waste of taxpayer money. Waste of space.

  2. past point where military should’ve acted against authoritarian regime, it is against the constitution to not give due process to ALL CITIZENS on the soil of America, this is in full violation of law, no one is safe, the Gestapo, took an oath to serve and protect, against foreign or domestic!

  3. Federal agents responding to fare evasion. Really. I thought 🤔 they were kidding. Okay, so it has become a federal offense to fare evade on a DC subway. But not our SF-bay transit systems, or MTA NYC Transit? Or anywhere else in the country.🙄

  4. It really bothers me to see Black Law Enforcement Officers working alongside white racists who were imported from red states to harass black people in the cities.

  5. Simikar to the Star Wars stories. They came in and stayed. In the end, they were defeated by the rebels and coalition of the willing. There was a celebration through out the galaxy.

  6. Escalators for fare evasion? That's a whole new level of creative policing. Meanwhile, I'm over here wondering if they're just trying to get some exercise.

  7. I feel for D.C., London, my hometown, great city. I’m always there and travel all over. I love its diversity and its energy. Then I read nonsense about it, from people who are pushing a divisive, hateful narrative and I feel so angry for the wrong, they are attempting to do, to a place I love.

  10. Thank goodness Der Fürher is saving DC residents from the scourge of fare evaders, and he only had to call in the military to do it. ‘Murica!

  11. It must make Americans so proud to now that the FBI is focussed on fare evasion...

The biggest, most heinous crime in the US right now.

American's can feel confident that their fares are no longer going to be evaded.

    Woop woop for the FBI!!!!

MAGA, yeah! Fare evaders, you're time's up!!!

  13. So, ICE, the National Guard, FBI, DHS and DEA are just wandering around DC streets looking for "crime"? There doesn't appear to be any specific area that looks to be targeted, where "show of force" is actually needed to counter criminal activities.

  14. My husband travels to DC for business quite often. Never has he felt in danger in the past, but now, because of these thugs responding to an illegal order to intimidate our citizens, he will. Shame on our government and these “officers”.

  17. Do these idiots really think those masks are going to protect them from prosecution? They’re getting paychecks. They have orders. It won’t be hard to figure out who they are when the trials begin…

    Thank you guys.

The people of America need to see what noisy, non-violent resistance can accomplish.

    Keep at it.

  20. How much was that fare and how much did it cost to have a veritable army go after one dude for jumping the turnstyle? Sheer madness. What is sad is that Metro cop bought into the false narrative.

  21. All residents, workers, transit systems should just go on strike & leave the city empty. Reporters can video deserted streets,no buses, trains, metro or ride sharing. Offices need to close & leave the “military” to wander aimlessly like their elected leader. No people, no problem.Commanders stay in Md.

  22. More news clips of this overreaching military farce will definitely keep visitors away from attending the Olympics and the World Cup. Both events should be moved to other more safe countries. The “behavior” of our citizens warrants this immediate change. WE ARE NOT WORTHY!

  23. The fare evader probably had no money because his restaurant job is not paying him since most DC restaurants are empty.Trump-ugh-nomics strikes again.

  24. They are. Paying those designated bullies so much money! They're being well paid and still allowed to wear a hood or mask and some wear both! CONFEDERATES! KKK! DUMMY BOYS! OAKHEADS! DOMESTIC TERRORISTS ALL!

  26. So anything for a crime stat. Litterers, jaywalkers, spitters, beware The Nat Guard or ICE WILL Scoop you up. A crime is a crime on the reports.

  27. Would Justin Webb consider this as another example of Trump 'making America normal again'? Perhaps Mr Webb does indeed think that-I however consider it as an attempt to provoke violence and thereby provide an excuse for escalation. #Americast #r4today

  28. They sound ridiculous and they know it. The response is why we need to ABOLISH all of DHS and LE and start over. It's full of abusive idiots. Top to bottom.

  29. Did Miller order quotas for arrests in DC - and to go for either high profile performative spaces (where crime is lowest) like the Mall, or low hanging/low risk offenses like fare crashing on the Metro?
