I have lived in Anglophone countries for the best part of 25 years, why has no-one discreetly pointed this out to me before??
And there’s “a rat” in the middle of separate, even though it doesn’t sound like it.
This is why I was confused all through my Discreet Math course.
My memory is shot right now but I think I've only heard the first in computers and math...

I keep confusing urologists with eulogists and it’s been making things complicated.
Is it just me or do most people these days just use the first spelling - "discrete" - to mean both things? "Discreet" looks strange to me.

I once mentioned this randomly in conversation and discovered the couple I was talking to each only knew one of the pair and had no idea of the other one at all!
