In large part because a single adult woman who wrote under a gender neutral name and then a male one didn't deal with her own psychological issues around gender and used the enormous wealth she got from that writing to target a tiny minority group.

She seems to feel like a fraud and is lashing out and externalizing that to trans people instead of, Idk, realizing her lack of female name on her books isn't the source of her feelings of fraud. It's probably because she borrowed so heavily from other authors.
