Netanyahu is not an accidental Prime Minister.
Many well-meaning people of vaguely liberal - left inclinations have supported Israel because they retained a fantasy of what Israel was.
Too slowly, people are realizing they Israel they loved wasn't the one that existed in the real world.
Although I fully agree with you, I am worried that the outcome of these opinion polls is being misrepresented. It doesn't seem that the question "do you wish that people in Gaza die of hunger" was asked in those terms (regardless of whether Israelis believe it to be happening or about to happen).
