Although I fully agree with you, I am worried that the outcome of these opinion polls is being misrepresented. It doesn't seem that the question "do you wish that people in Gaza die of hunger" was asked in those terms (regardless of whether Israelis believe it to be happening or about to happen).

In this case, it seems that the issue is more denial than a conscious approval of the government strategy of starving people to death. The answer to the question "do you wish that people in Gaza die of hunger" would likely not be a majority of "yes".

Were respondents asked about this specifically, and (separate question) to what extent do they know that the Gazan population is experiencing outright famine?
