It is not "extremely generous" to pay people what they are worth, but there are so many companies who do SO BADLY at providing a fair wage that the mere appearance of almost being fair can appear "generous".

Without looking it up, I feel like he paid numerous employees who worked for the Mavs at least six-figure bonuses when he sold the team. I want to say he paid some a million (could be wrong about that). I feel like his employees have always made a fair wage. Maybe I’m wrong. Never worked for him.

    That's basically just the definition of "profit", and billionaires are pretty much exclusively created by demonstrating the ability to create profitable companies.
