How much of that $3.5B was taxed? How much did he keep to repay himself on everything he spent investing in the team over his 23 years of ownership? What percentage is the $35M he gave out of that number? I am not sure why you are still arguing. What percentage of his profits did he gift?

Please do not think I am trying to justify billionaires. The majority of them are stealing labor from the workers. You get no argument from me on that.
I am saying not all billionaires are the same and made their money the same way.

In 2023 the Mavericks had an operating income of $158M. From what I can tell, Mark did not take a salary as owner. He owned the team for 23 years and never took a paycheck before selling the team and paying out $35M in bonuses. How much do you think he should have paid out? Give every employee $1M?

How about this, it’s not the agencies nor the employees that I am commenting on. It’s the subsidies given by the government to companies that make billions in profits yet have workers below the poverty line. Just as an example.

And it seems like two problems are solved with one change. That’s efficiency.

And I would say, show the citizens that you can spend the money to help people and then let’s go get you more money.

I’m going to push back just a little here… While I agree that owners should not be making 600x what any employee makes, the company needs to make some profit off the employees to continue to grow/adapt/invest. But generally speaking, you point is valid.

I’m all for voting in better policy makers. You know, the ones who want to help the US citizens.

Make no mistake, I’d rather vote out 99% of policy makers and start anew. That isn’t realistic. So let’s start with something positive and build up from there. No?

Without looking it up, I feel like he paid numerous employees who worked for the Mavs at least six-figure bonuses when he sold the team. I want to say he paid some a million (could be wrong about that). I feel like his employees have always made a fair wage. Maybe I’m wrong. Never worked for him.
