Also, if you haven’t watched the Danny Boyle stage adaptation, it’s not the most accurate, but I think it captures the spirit of the novel the best.

I don’t think Zaslov has anything to do with it. I think he has people in charge of greenlighting films for WB, and then James Gunn is in charge of DC. It would be like the CEO of Disney getting credit for what Marvel and Pixar do.
