I'm pretty left, and some of it upsets me. By design, I think.
Politeness is supposed to be a contract all parties sign. Progressive discourse these days is unilateral, doctrinal and primarily concerned with the interests of minorities. This has alienated a lot of Americans, right or wrong.

These words aren't confusing- that's not the issue. Most of them remonstrate, scold and make people reconsider thoughts and behaviors- a 'new politeness' they didn't participate in creating and doesn't account for them. That's what voters are rejecting.

It is indeed fine NOT TO HAVE A POSITION when you have no idea what you're talking about....yet here you are. Knowing nothing, caring nothing, looking for another meaningless fight with a new 'enemy'.

The parole board is responsible for making this determination- if they'd released Mendendez I wouldn't have protested. Of course the system is corrupt and miscarries justice, but no particular argument for their rehabilitation is being made here, just 'prisons evil, murdering rapists good'.

I also believe in rehabilitation, but our prison system doesn't enable or encourage it, and not every prisoner is capable. I take it you may not believe in psychopathy...I do.

They went on a spending spree immediately after the murders. They hired someone to destroy the latest version of their father's will disinheriting them. They were burgling neighboring houses in the year leading up to the murders. I don't think these facts are in dispute...?

I have no idea if you're serious, but these guys blasted their mom with a shotgun ten times. They went out to their car to reload in the middle. Her body placement suggested she tried to crawl away during this interval. Is sexual abuse by the father a mitigating circumstance for this?
