Micah Parsons to the Packers instantly makes them Super Bowl contenders.

I don't care what they gave up: It was worth it.

  1. As a Bears fan I do not approve of this trade. I'm just glad we don't play them till late in the season this year

  2. Yahoo! writers are saying they're surprised.

After the beginning of this week, why? I would have been surprised if Micah played for Jerruh for $500M/yr after the insulting crap Jones said.

  3. If they end up having a good/great season, then it's even better for them and worse for the 'Boys because those 1st round picks will be diluted. Can't wait to hear Jerry Jones try to spin his way out of this

  4. I mean, they still have Jordan Love at QB....so while Parsons helps them, they still are not beating the better NFC teams.

  5. Okay I hope I am wrong but I have also noticed the trend that these players who get insane contracts also get hurt early in season or a total bust ( scheme is just not a good fit or they get complacent, etc)

He’s amazing and I hope he stays healthy and makes Dallas feel stupid 100 times over tho

  6. They are going to be mid to late-round firsts, and Kenny Clark may be exiting his prime. Great trade for the Packers.

  7. He’s not a DE, he’s an OLB. He only plays there so he can get payed like a premier DE. He too small to take on guys weighing 75+ lbs more on any given play. Why his back is always hurt and teams run right at him. Cowboys became terrible run defense when he moved from OLB to DE.

    Ask Packers in ‘23.

  8. Well they gave up basically nothing. Just another example of Jerry’s ego being more important than winning. It’s pathetic.

  9. I just watched you on NFL Live and you said that it’s a mistake for Dallas to trade him, great job Packers but still bad Cowboys right??

  10. I would be happy to see both the Cowboys and the Packers miss the playoffs for the next 10 years at least.

  11. Dallas got a reasonable amount back, don't hate this trade for them, but if Love isn't up to the task GB aren't SB contenders.

  12. The Packers are going to be good for the short term and long term. Thus the two #1 draft picks to Dallas will be very late in the 1st round.

  13. I have to agree.

Another disaster for Jerrah. Interesting they kept him in conference. The only real surprise is they didn't send Parsons to either the Eagles or Giants.

You can now nail this to the wall and the season hasn't even started yet:

  14. I don't know why y'all think Jordan Love is that great. But I guess if you look at him like Trent Dilfer, a Packers Super Bowl could make sense.

  15. I would have traded for a new thumb for Jordan Love if it was on the market, but this is something if Parsons gets in football shape quickly / doesn't get hurt in the process. Still think the layoff led to Aiyuk's injury.

  16. Dallas fan here. Not a bandwagon one but real fan. I blame Jerry for a lot of things but this one makes sense. Except how he handled it. Should have done it before draft and shown respect. But people need to understand Micah’s game. It’s all speed.

  17. Jerry Jones is a fucking clown and the Cowboys aren’t a serious team. I checked out last season and looks like I’ll stay checked out, maybe find a new team.

  18. That contract is a back breaker though. If he's not pulling the kind of #'s from his rookie season, not the last 2, it's going to be a disaster.

  19. but i love kenny clark :( and two firsts on top of that plus the boat load of cash... i hope this kid is ready and hungry to win a ring

  20. Except that they gave up their heart and soul in Kenny Clark. As a life-long Vikings fan, this is exactly the type of move we've made often in the past that never worked out.

  21. Before I knew the details I texted my Packers pal to congratulate him on the Packers Super Bowl victory over the Ravens & said “whatever they gave up was definitely worth it.”

  22. When was the last time the Packers were legitimately bad and had a top 10 pick? If they're what they should be, those picks are probably in the 22-25 range. They do this 10/10 times

  23. As an Eagles fan, I'm glad that the Jerry clown show continues and that Micah ended up in another division.

  24. I know Parsons is a once-in-a-generation talent, but as a Cowboys fan, I'm cool with this. I'm worried about Parsons' long-term potential given his size and durability issues, and they get two 1's, a DT, and financial flexibility.

It does remind me of the Walker trade; here's hoping.

  25. I can't even work out what they had to give up that matched the holes in the Dallas team.

  26. Someone needs to get power of attorney over Jerry. Either that or he's betting it all on a GB superbowl.

  27. As Packer fan, I approve. Also how many more times can the Packers snatch the hearts of Cowboy fans?

  28. As someone who has spent 30 years molded by Thompson/Gutekunst "we have impact players at home" thinking I'm a little traumatized by the price tag but hopefully this will pay off down the road.

  29. This year for certain. With 9 up for extensions they are going to have to make some hard decisions going forward.

  30. 2 firsts for a generational player that is only 26. 2 first round picks from the Packers, which have infinitely less value than cowboys picks. It's essentially a 1st and a 2nd in value.

  31. $120M guaranteed. This sort of changes the geometry of every contract negotiation moving forward, right?

  32. I read that by some advanced metrics, Dallas has been one of the best defenses on a per play basis with Parsons on the field. And the worst when he's not on the field. Could Jerry be trying to tank so he gets a shot at Arch Manning?

    0
  33. It wasn't much. 30 yo DT and 2 1st rounders that will be in the 25 and lower slots. Dallas on the other hand blew it. Should have traded him earlier to get a better haul.

  34. Jerry saw his own doc sand said: I can do it again. Can you have a recency bias of something that happened 3 decades ago?

  35. As a Cowboys fan, I'm done with this team. Like, I dealt with them, but I wasn't too invested anymore. Now, I'm out.

When is basketball starting. I want to see Wemby. At least the Spurs are a competent franchise.

  36. Bwahahaha! They might make the wild card in third place in the division again. That's about it. Vikings are going to win the division. Lions second, and Packers and Bears are vying to not be in last place. NFC North defenses are insane this year.

  37. Trading away the best player at his position in the league is never a good move.

  38. Besides what they gave up in the trade, they are also giving up multiple future players because of the money he commanded. I’m guessing that was part of Jerry’s calculus.

  39. 1 player does not make a Super Bowl team. He might make a difference, but you still have Love at the helm. Good luck. #GoBirds #FlyEaglesFly #Packers
