  1. I’m literally in Europe with friends at the moment and both said separately that they would not be visiting the U.S. on holiday “because they don’t want to end up in some prison in El Salvador.”

    He’s killed tourism.

  2. Thank you Donald Trump, Stephen Miller and Tom Homan. Tourists from Canada are afraid to come here for fear they’ll be disappeared.

  3. Also not related to the rotting economy whose metrics are propped up by ludicrous spending on AI infrastructure despite the entire sector hemorrhaging money

  4. This is so disingenuous. Tourism has been killed all over America due to alienating all our allies and terrifying immigration policy.

  5. Perhaps sensible people from around the globe 🌍 are not interested in having their phones searched without cause, along with the real possibility of being kidnapped to a concentration camp without due process, stop blaming young people and place the blame on the Trump Administration

  6. Hells bells-ya can bet on anything from your own home. Turn on a music video with lots of lights and sounds while you lose your money. Why go to Vegas?

  7. I'm curious what the figure is for the decline in international travel to Las Vegas. I think Vegas has been a destination for overseas tourism, hasn't it?

  8. A stat on foreign tourism in the post article would have been revealing.

(They are scared to travel here)

Yes. Young foreign tourists are not visiting LV...

  9. It’s also expensive as hell. Used to love Vegas. I’ll never go back. When they cut up the town for a F1 race and you had to walk 2 miles to find $5 black jack and $5 drink, that was it for me.

  10. Think about this : Young people are fed up! They work hard for minimum wages and can hardly meet their car payment to get around to school and work! College costs are not within their grasp! They don’t see a future for themselves! How would they be able to go to Vegas ?

  11. Typical New York SHITpost article. Deflect from the person really to blame for the decline. The TACO Twatwaffle.

    0
  12. Nope. The one to blame is an old guy who is cosplaying as president right now.

    1
  13. Just pile the blame on Gen Z and the Millennials. They’ll barely notice with all the crushing debt already piled on em

  14. we have to stop acting like this administration is blundering. They're doing these things ON PURPOSE to weaken us, our economy and allow themselves to lord over us. It's not an accident.

There is ONLY one way out of this, we fight and remove this regime.

    0
  15. Maybe. Honestly, it could also be that Gen Z sees Vegas as the tacky, overpriced, tourist trap that it is. Maybe they're looking to spend their funds on more authentic locations that aren't clogged with bread-backed boomers, fake tits, and celebrity chefs. Plus, the ice stuff.

  16. If Americans only travelled outside of their fair country to see what the rest of the Free World thinks . . .

  17. I used to visit Las Vegas 3-4 times a year but that ended the day Nevada voted for Trump over Harris. I’m not the only one to boycott Vegas for that reason. They are also way down on both Canadian & Asian visitors over Trumps antics.

  18. THIS is so stupid. What about the older people who can’t afford to gamble anymore because they have NO MONEY due to the fact that their Social Security might be privatized at any minute? Most casinos are filled with “blue hairs” don’t put this on the young people - put it on the orange guy 100%

  19. I live in Las Vegas, and I can attest to the fact that the foot traffic on the strip is super light. It looks like it did when things were first reopening from the pandemic

  20. I love how they want to pay young people peanuts and then take most of those peanuts with rent and healthcare costs, but then turns around and demands they get chain restaurant meals and diamond rings and las vegas vacations.

    With what money?

    0
  21. Foreigners are not risking a vacation in the US, or are just choosing to boycott the US in response the Trump's "diplomacy".

    I don't blame them.

    0
  22. But at least they won’t have to pay taxes on tips that will be lower now with fewer tourists. Good thing they voted for Trump.

    0
  23. Nevada voted for this. As did Florida. It’s not a mystery why they’re not coming.

    1
  24. Trump is killing the tourist industry If I were from another country I wouldn't come to America either The World Cup and Olympics are going to be a disaster

  25. Prices in Las Vegas went through the roof after the pandemic. Millennials and especially Gen Zs, if they are lucky enough to have a job, are barely getting by. Why would they want to shell out $$$$ in Las Vegas when there are so many nicer places they could go?

    0
  26. Probably partially has to do with the fact other states are opening up their gambling laws and have casinos, like West Virginia, Virginia for example.

  27. And resort fees. And shit odds for gamblers. (6-5 blackjack replacing 3-2)

$26 bottles of water at Aria aren't helping. Nor are $20 well drinks. And $30 hamburgers. And $99 buffets.

This is what happens when you have to SQUEEZE every dime out of your customers for the next quarterly profit ...

  28. I canceled participating in a business event where I work every year. It's in Texas. I'm brown. Not worth the risk. The economy isn't exactly giving me high hopes of adequate sales either. But the main reason is I don't want to be "disappeared."

  29. Certainly foreign tourists are avoiding the US. Who wants to be detained by a Banana Republic while on vacation.

    0
  30. Las Vegas resident here.

There are multiple reasons for the decline: corporate greed, noticeable absence of Canadians and Europeans, probably some ICE stuff, etc…

None of it has to do with “young people”.

    0
  31. Maybe because people don’t have the disposable income to spare. We have fewer people with cash, and a growing number of working poor. The middle class is gone.

    0
  32. Shouldn't the headline be genZ too smart to throw away money on gambling and 3rd rate buffets

    0
  33. And Canadians - Canadian businesses cancelled planned events there & in June 2025 the number of Canadians flying into Vegas was 33% less than in June 2024.

  34. I wanted to come to America this summer, but I look way too Mediterranean for that. Also I say bad things about right-wingers. Don't want to be arrested by ice

  35. Nah! It's us Nasty Canadians!

We are deciding that a weekend in Sin City isn't worth the risk of an extended stay in an El Salvadorian jail cell. #elbowsup!

  36. Don't even blame "younger" (younger than whom?) people for the drop in tourism. This is Trump's fault.

    0
  37. I've heard from people in Canada and Europe that they are furious at the US because of the things Trump has said and his actions in the Russian war of aggression. i don't know why they would blame young people when Trump is doing such a fabulous job of keeping tourists out.

    0
  38. It's a mix of all of the above. LV needs to re-invent itself a bit for younger generations. Foreign tourism is way down for obvious reasons. And the demographic middle that LV historically attracted is more fiscally squeezed these days, or at least less certain about their fiscal future.

  39. International travelers are staying away in droves. YES, because of Dementia Donnie's efforts with ICE and also to piss off the whole world with his tariffs. As a Vegas visitor for the last couple of decades, I can also say that they are pricing themselves out as a destination for many Americans.

  40. How about djt to blame … who wants to come here and caught up in ICE raids… this would be the last place I would visit if I didn’t live here…

    0
  41. Don't you mean Trump is to blame, and NOT the younger generation.....people are taking a step back and NOT spending their money where you have a lunatic as a President who shit's on his allies.........

    0
  42. But if we keep blaming the youths then we don’t have to feel bad about failing to give them a livable planet or a functional democracy

    0
  43. Someone should tell NY Post/Murdoch that it's Canadians, other foreign tourists....US tourism is collapsing...

    0
  44. Europeans here, been to the USA a dozen or more times. Love it. We’re not coming back till you get this shit sorted out. ICE + Tariffs + science denial.

  45. Corp Vegas has been slowly killing themselves since covid with every flipping fee they can come up with. When 3 nights in Vegas cost more than an 8 night cruise I said no more.

  48. Las Vegas symbolizes everything wrong with the United States, greased by the tiny hands of a leader who normalizes graft, greed, and excess. Could it be that humanity has collectively arrived at that realization?

    0
  49. Blame? If young don't want to spend money in Vegas, why should they? It's kind of an older person deal, isn't it?

    0
  50. Why leave your home when you can gamble/game from your computer, have weed/booze/food delivered, and all the internet porn you can handle?

That's all Vegas has to offer, and most folks don't want to deal with how scummy the city has become for the price.

    0
  51. They're really reaching there. Tourism $ down by billions, but it's the young people messing with LV. Read the room, NYT. Christ!

    0
  52. It’s not young Americans it’s trump Fox News New York post and all the repube liars pedos and grifters screwing up our country no one is coming to the USA

    0
  53. not me reading "younger Americans" and immediately rejoicing because FINALLY something is NOT the MILLENNIALS FAULT!!!

    0
  54. More than half of international tourists to Vegas are from Canada and Mexico. 100% the number of tourists visiting is dropping because of ICE and Trump’s insane trade war.

    0
  55. Shitting on Canada is also a factor, as a huge portion of visitors to Vegas have been Canadian. Not now.

    0
  56. Well, nowadays you sit at home to bet on an app. If you want to gamble, who needs Vegas? 🤷🏻‍♀️

    0
  57. fox Propaganda network may try to blame the drop in tourism on the young of OUR Country, but we all know the old fart who is really responsible for all the trouble and expense and danger which is causing people to stay away in droves!

    0
  58. I’d hazard cost of living is also partly to blame - uncertainty over conditions, threat of tariff pricing making upcoming purchases more expensive, the preference for saving a financial buffer to help with unknowns vs frivolous spending.

  59. Couldn't possibly be to the fact again the economy is headed toward a recession / crash for the... 4th time in 20 years.

    Couldn't be that either right?

    0
  60. Not necessarily ICE in particular, but anti-U.S. in general.

Canadians, after all, are the biggest tourists to the United States.

I’m thinking that deliberately insulting them may not be the best policy.
