I mean, that's the weirdest, lamest excuse ever. Does he not read his speeches before he delivers them? Think about what's in them and how they'll be interpreted? Does he not have any core beliefs of his own? It's starting to feel like he doesn't to be honest.

That's a generous reading given Starmer's rhetoric on this issue. His 'island of strangers' speech. His talk of 'a squalid experiment in open borders'. If he doesn't want to pander to these ideas, he could easily set the record straight. Either he believes this stuff or he's too cowardly to clarify.

I think it's more likely that Sultana loses her seat to be honest.

Can't see it. It's deeply depressing that the best the left can muster is the Corbyn/Sultana combo.
-
There isn't though, is there? Corbyn will never be PM. He's tried twice and failed twice, the second time by a much larger margin than the first. That's for the birds really.

So do you recognise my 'strength of feeling' Starmer?? And the 'strength of feeling' of everyone - and I'm confident in saying there are fucking millions of us - who don't want to live in a country where racists shout the odds and the rest of us have to accommodate their small-minded ignorance?
The PM's spokesman tells lobby journalists just now that the Government is not looking at suspending the ECHR (as Reform are demanding)
But he refused to condemn Farage's language about an "invasion" of illegal migrants, instead saying the PM "recognises" people's "strength of feeling" on the issue

While the media wittered on hysterically about tiny, ugly anti-immigration protests, this cultural institution rolled through the streets of London once again; taken for granted but still magical and important. More than a million people. www.theguardian.com/culture/2025...
