I think that money should be kept far away from politics. It’s just incomprehensible that private persons and especially corporations are allowed to donate such large amounts of money to politicians. It’s just foolishness to think most of them won’t be corrupted. They’re humans ffs.

When they want to negotiate peace by actually talking to all parties involved without sending bombs or troops, they’re seen as cowards. Your fascination with guns and displays of military power is showing. You apparently can’t help yourselves.🤷🏻♀️

As an outside observer, it seems like Carter got a lot of disdain from American voters bc they thought he was weak. Every Democratic President in my lifetime was portrayed as a weak leader by the media whereas the Republican ones were seen as very strong (minus Bush Jr perhaps).

You’re not alone, and l’m not even an American citizen. Seeing footage of the president of the United States watching the news of the attack on the Capitol unfold and seeing his gleeful reaction to it made me really sick to my stomach. That was just plain evil we all saw that day.
