How would you react if 3 years before the primary you are repeating informed you need to drop the purity test of wanting to keep wearing glasses and support the guy?

You also are skipping over the curtailing of rights. Would you vote for the dem nominee if he promised that he would ban men from wearing glasses and ban medical professionals from providing glasses? Not voting for him would lead to a JD Vance presidency.

Newsom is actively working to prevent the state legislature from ensrining some of the widely supported (by Californians) rights from gaining more legal strength because he fears it will cause him to loose the moderate republicans he is hoping to court.

Is moving the democrat needle even further to the right (arguably from centrist to further right than a lot of right wing parties) how one saves democracy? Is the US having a right wing party and a facist party what we want?

Its a really hard sell to people “vote for this guy that has promised to curtail your rights because the other guy will curtail my rights (well both in this case)” its pretty clear why this messaging is not working.

Most of this thread is broadly telling trans people to compromise on their rights and support Newsom anyways. That worked out so well for the UK that with their “liberal government” that trans people are barred from peeing in both the Men’s and the Women’s room.

Friends to lovers and enemies to lovers feels over played. I kinda want to read a lovers to friends book where they realize they aren’t right for each other but stay friends and have to save the world.
