100% inheritance tax is ridiculous especially for people who have next to nothing and want to leave their kids a pittance. How about a cap and then a tiered tax rate? That would solve the problems. Franceβs highest rate is 45% for children and 60% for other relationships.

Same. Had no kids and have a paid off house in early 40s. Iβm leaving it to him because I have no idea what his future is going to look like. At least I can put a roof over his head thatβs low cost upkeep if need be. Heβs 16 right now. Poor kid

I think it makes sense when the environment is collapsing around us. They definitely need to invest in car charging networks & renewable energies. Radical changes are going to be necessary. Not doing it means certain failure. But I guess people donβt care because they βwonβt be hereβ when it happens

Earning more but everything else is still more affordable and there is an insanely good social net if anything happens.
Thereβs a reason people arenβt leaving here en masse.
Also if youβre self employed or run a business you can structure things to get better tax rates.

Also itβs called tiered taxes so the additional 20% only happens AFTER 66k you still get the 66k at the lower tax rate.

How is 32% HALF of my income? Do you know how math helps? If I make 630k SEK Iβd pay around 200k SEK in taxes.
And for those taxes? I get loads. Including every year 75k SEK and 50k SEK per tax paying adult in the house to put towards house improvements and house cleaning.

Yeah I paid high taxes in Canada and got next to nothing for it. Always struggling. And yes we have social healthcare but if you donβt have private health insurance youβre in trouble. Everywhere in Europe Iβve lived Iβve still had enough left over to feel comfortable. Not live large but be happy.
