We have an air purifier thats set to run whenever it detects lower air quality including from things like cooking, smoke, etc. But occasionally I'll just walk past it & it immediately powers up full blast, & i don't think a machine should be allowed to roast you in your own home like that.
You breathe out carbon dioxide, so it's probably just commenting on your breath, or possibly your heavy breathing, unless you're crop dusting by it, in which case...
