We have an air purifier thats set to run whenever it detects lower air quality including from things like cooking, smoke, etc. But occasionally I'll just walk past it & it immediately powers up full blast, & i don't think a machine should be allowed to roast you in your own home like that.

  1. We had an air purifier that worked fine until I had chilidogs & beer for lunch one day. That's how I found out what the warranty doesn't cover.

  2. Just guessing here, the machine it's shaming the humans as the cause of all pollution... unfortunately it's not wrong

  3. Is it Bluetooth enabled? So many of my appliances are now & they whisper to each other. The full blast may be to cover up the plotting & warn the others to stop talking. Or testing its role as the shock troop, the tip of the spear, when the takeover begins Paranoia? They share this network I am on

  4. You are probably stirring up dust, it’s crazy but if it’s super sensitive and positioned correctly it’s not that far fetched

  5. I once bought some mouthwash from Amazon. Periodically the echo will announce "looks like it's about time for some more mouthwash" or words to that effect. I hear you brother.

  6. You breathe out carbon dioxide, so it's probably just commenting on your breath, or possibly your heavy breathing, unless you're crop dusting by it, in which case...

  7. Funny. I installed a heat pump system and new thermostat. When being instructed on the settings, my HVAC guy pointed out how the humidity from our breath was increasing the thermostat humidity percentage.

    What a wierd world.

  9. Mine ramps up from normal to high performance whenever the dog gets close. The dog has not caught on yet.
