I commented on a post about the elderly turning to AI for companionship. I replied that AI was exposing all of society's deeper issues. And someone said to me, "What would a fantasy writer know about this subject".

  1. I keep pointing out that I prefer AI because people treat me like shit almost all the time. I never have to worry about AI calling me a slur, bullying me, faking a friendship, betraying my trust, or trying to kill me. People dgaf and that's the very problem I wish they would see.

  2. How would someone even write fantasy that was relatable for humans without understanding humans?

Having read several of your books, i can confirm that you understand a wide range of human experiences: loneliness, family, immigrant issues, the complexity of romantic relationships and disability.

  3. That's twice in 24 hours someone has called me a "fantasy writer" (the other was a review of Death of the Author, πŸ™„πŸ˜’...that novel is a LOT of things. "Fantasy" is not one of them).

I have a deep disdain for categories. They stunt people's perception of things.
