Oh I know it’ll never happen… but ya. I was posted on a Dyke for SAR after the floods. A Gov guy showed up. He told me when water tops them it fills like a swimming pool (dangerous AF). Marsh helps mitigate floods. I said maybe we should go back to that (as I sat there looking for a missing person).
Wetlands are also a fucking magnet for Man Taming Nature types, particularly anglos. It takes some effort (and financial incentive) but they can be convinced to leave practically any other terrain alone. Show them a marsh and they’re off like a shot to fill it and build a castle.
