Big Bad film Fest this weekend
When those that do, they hold on tight and those that don't feel like the shattering of glass into indiscriminate pieces . And then there's most people: stuck in the middle between the beauty and...everything else. But when I saw that L.A. skyline: I understood the allure.
I know this sounds wistful and maybe even a bit pretentious, but as I get ready to leave tomorrow I do think after two visits I really do love this city. It's sprawling in its weirdness, its romance, and probable evil. You get why a thousand dreams want to be made here.
On my drive back to the hotel I saw the L.A. cityscape skyline and for a precious few seconds I "got it". All that brilliant beauty shining in the night. The allure. An urban metropolis that breaks dreams as much as it makes them. Even if it's fleeting, it is a sight to behold.
