We are methane hunters and movement organizers. We use optical gas imaging to expose the dirty secrets of oil and gas. We leverage this intelligence to educate the public and policy makers to strengthen climate movements.

  1. The media is talking a lot about methane intensity because the industry is talking a lot about methane intensity.

However, this distracts from the reality that total methane emissions keep going up.

    Learn more about methane intensity.

On July 24th, S&P Global released a press release touting that “methane emissions intensity” has declined by 29% from 2023 to 2024. On July 3rd, the International Energy Agency released a report on na...

  4. An industry that lets storage tanks fall into disrepair resulting in a big spill of toxic fracking wastewater into a stream is the same industry that claims they are the absolutely best at capturing methane emissions.

Unlike the oil sheen on the water, no one can see the methane.

    Trust them?

  5. Big oil corporations want the Trump EPA to keep the veneer of methane regulation while gutting provisions that require real transparency and accountability (like third party reporting on super emitter events and the methane fee).

    Great reporting by @emdashsanders.bsky.social:

The Trump EPA could do away with methane regulations that major oil companies and their trade associations have strategically claimed to support.

With methane rules on the chopping block, where does Big Oil stand?
