The Apprentice was a tv show. But Trump believed what millions of other Americans did and bought into the myth of him being this infallible businessman.
In truth... his business failures are many and legend & lie scattered behind him like egg pallets that have fallen off a badly stacked truck.
What he did to Atlantic City was scandalous. That he was given a tv show featuring him as a highly successful businessman was both a lie & appalling.
Truth.
He managed to bankrupt casinos among many other ventures. Literacy is another of his failures. Ivana famously said he kept Hitler speeches on the bedside table.
Trump is a barely competent criminal who survived by laundering money through his real estate business for the Russian Mafia.
Businessman is a role he played , it doesn’t make him fit to be POTUS , anymore than I’d want Ellen Pompeo performing complex surgery on me !
His whole POTUS persona is based around him acting out still being the Apprentice boss - pointing his finger at anyone who displeases him & saying 'you're fired'. He regularly has heads of state, or Gov officials etc in front of the cameras where he proceeds to belittle them, just like the TV show
When you consider that he couldn't run a casino for gods sake that says everything about his abilities.
Learned a couple years ago that "The Art of the Deal" was actually written by a chap called Tony Schwartz
He's regretted it ever since
And has called Trump a sociopath and a wannabe dictator
Years ago in (UK) business school Trump was used as a prime example of how NOT to run businesses, manage people or build strategic alliances. Truly thought the US Apprentice used Trump out of irony. In retrospect, they just wanted a larger than life buffoon to boost ratings.
An actor, a very bad actor...in all ways
Unfortunately, large parts of the American public are too naive or undereducated to see that Trump is a fraud and a con.
And — whatever the term for the phenomenon is — many who do realise it lack the will to make a U-turn after showing ages of near-cult-like loyalty.
He was even shit in Home Alone 2, and he only had one line.
I cannot stand Alan Sugar but at least he actually built a business from the ground up without inheriting a multi-million $ property empire and never actually scammed the public.
Reporter: "Mr Trump, how did you become a millionaire?"
Trump: "Well, I inherited a billion...."

He not only didn't write the Art of the Deal. It's said he didn't read it.
This guy goes around saying "we make a deal, that's what I do" and everyone trots it out like some mantra but he's the ultimate fake hero. A total phoney whose only function is to demonstrate that such beasts can thrive.
He has no grip on reality.
Trump managed to underperform the S&P with a portfolio of real estate, largely in New York. That takes real talent. Just like going bust running a casino takes real talent.
