Don’t get between Trump and the lucrative deals Putin’s dangling. Geopolitics means nothing to MAGA; it’s just an impediment to moneymaking. MAGA values democracy even less.
Western Europe needs to decide if it values democracy. The price now is militarization. Wait, and the price rises to combat.
It doesn’t matter to MAGA that Putin’s moving into Europe. The Trump coalition consists of rich people with survival bunkers in New Zealand; Christians awaiting the Rapture; lots of fascists who’d welcome Putin as their overlord; etc. Europe needs to stop depending on this idiocracy for its defense.

I’ve been thinking about Reich’s optimism lately. Not saying it’s not warranted but I don’t even pretend anymore to share it. I think the reason is that Reich’s around lots of students & I’m not.
For example the planet’s worse off than I ever feared. But he’s right that optimism is still required.
