At the Whooverville convention in Derby this weekend I'll have a few books for sale - Doctor Who and others - and I'll also have this range of prints for sale, too.

….then I realised what I’ve been painting each day - It’s red, white and blue ripping itself to pieces in all the ignorance and stupidity of everything going on recently. I’m protesting against fascism in the form of abstract expressionism!

All week I’ve had these canvases out in the garden and I’ve gone back to them almost daily, splashing colour on without really thinking about it. Then just today I’ve looked at them again and realised what I’ve been doing unconsciously.

Lovely recommendations here. Anything with leafy streets, bookshops and university buildings...
I feel the same about detective books, especially by Dorothy Sayers or Gladys Mitchell. Shadow of the Wind, by Carlos Ruiz Zafón feels autumnal too. I agree about the Secret Garden, and I'd add Cue for Treason by Geoffrey Trease, oh, and Mary Stewart's Merlin trilogy
