So even though, yes, Social Security πͺπ΄ an entitlement β we are entitled to receive our legally mandated pension contributions back, with interest β perhaps the better term, that will connect better with all voters, ππ¨ "earned benefits".

It's taken on the meaning of "false assumed privilege" β like a karen demanding to speak to the manager.

Part of the problem is that "entitled" has, in the vernacular, switched meanings. Now, too many people hear the word in the mocking tones of "Oh? You think you're so π¦π―π΅πͺπ΅ππ¦π₯ to do what you want!" etc.

If you tried to write this into a novel/screenplay, a good editor would convince you to change it because the irony is just too much like a blunt object to the temple.

Having to choke down too much food and getting the two conversations mixed β with obviously hilarious results.

Scheduling two dinner dates simultaneously (at adjacent apartments or different tables at the same restaurant) and excusing yourself from one to "use the facilities" then going to the other. Repeat multiple times.
