Volcanic ash originating from Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula canceled Alaska Airlines flights to Nome and Kotzebue Tuesday morning.
The ash plume came from the Klyuchevskoy volcano, prompting an advisory from the Alaska Volcanic Ash Advisory Center.

It has been a busy couple of days! There was a large landslide and tsunami in SE Alaska, in Tracy Arm, Sunday morning. Luckily, no injuries or casualties were reported. This region is outside of our current landslide coverage, but we were able to get a quick location after hearing about the event. 🧵

A massive landslide struck Endicott Arm in Southeast Alaska early Sunday, triggering a tsunami with waves reaching 15 ft. No major damage reported, but nearby kayakers were affected.
