Every time he talks these days I understand more about why his marriage ended right after his last election & how he he came to start dating a progressive strategist who boosted him all the time.

For folks wondering why Dems in Congress haven't tried something similar, the rules for quorum are entirely different. In Congress, only a simple majority is needed for a quorum. The same is true for nearly all state legislatures.
TX is rare in having a supermajority quorum requirement.
Texas House Dems just put out a press release confirming they've left the state in sufficient numbers to deny the GOP a quorum to pass its new gerrymander. A press conference is scheduled for 7:15 PM (presumably CT). mailchi.mp/texashousede...
Yeah…Today’s not even the first time the TX Dems had to take such extremes to try to protect voting rights. People seem to have short memories about it like this is new just because it directly involves the maps. Shit’s not a game.
I’m gonna comment here & there. Hell I posted an update on my long ass runner-up tier list earlier…But that’s just for fun with people I like to interact with. We have to win the House. I vote for a Governor in less than 3 months & the GOP nominee was close last time, idgaf what the polling says. 🤷‍♂️
With all of them I mostly just laugh now & then at a clip but it’s never enough to make me want to tune in. Closest I came to watching any of them was Josh Johnson hosting recently because he’s usually funny when I see clips of him & I still didn’t.
The empty stadiums during Covid took me out of it & I just steadily started caring less & less.
