Seattle born & raised, & still there. Cyclist, sports fan, former litigator & brewery guy. Tired of Xitter.

  1. I’d also say to “reply-guy” that even if it were true that Trump doesn’t care about polls (there is a lot of evidence to the contrary), that doesn’t mean Congress also doesn’t care. They very much do, & that matters, as Congress has always had the power (if not the courage) to stop Trump.

  2. Yes. And a HUGE waste of money. Especially since (and I don’t mean to suggest there is ANY validity to this investigation, but…) if this ever went anywhere, IT’S TEN YEARS AGO. Obama has immunity, & the relevant statutes of limitations have likely expired. This is Benghazi, squared. Cubed, even.

  3. She’s right. Clinton v. Jones, which held that a sitting president is not immune from civil litigation under the constitution, is still good law. Clinton famously then had to sit for a deposition where his relationship with Monica Lewinsky was exposed, leading to his impeachment.

  4. The most plausible answer is the market collectively believes either the tariffs will be declared illegal & void, or TACO Trump will back down before they are implemented (at least fully). And may be waiting for the inflation poop to hit the fan a little harder.

  5. I think it’s a good thing for Maxwell to be deposed, if entirely public & transparent. However, regardless of whether she burned Trump to the ground or gave him cover, she’s completely useless as a witness unless corroborated in multiple ways. Which is why the files must be released.
