there's a difference between akknowledging how terrible things are and just pure relentless pessimism. the former is an important step towards making things better... the latter rarely if ever actually makes things better.

I kinda sucks that the net effect of her being right about this will be a lot of otherwise smart people (and also mostly stupid people) trying to "thread the needle" and be mad that she said it (or said anything) rather than acknowledging what was said.

Yes, sometimes there are “distractions”; 800 troops in a U.S. city isn’t one of them. The idea that there’s one grand decoder ring (Epstein) from which all else is distraction is… well, let’s just say there are some other folks who think that, too.

I’m not saying Epstein isn’t a big deal—not saying anything about it at all, in fact. I’m stating the obvious: a military takeover is its own damn fascist thing.

The military takeover of Washington is not a “distraction” from Epstein. It’s a military takeover of Washington, which is an even bigger deal, and those of us who kill brain cells reporting on this stuff knows it’s been an explicit goal since before the election.
