It is absolutely ridiculous that Adrienne Villa's death has basically gone unreported in local & national media

An anti-ICE protester being held on $1.3 million bail found dead in a courtroom jail cell & crickets from media. Should make you question why they want this kept quiet!

The System Killed Her.
A recent report led to the striking discovery of a woman who died in LASD custody in June amid a legal assault against anti-ICE protestors. Her story raises troubling questions.

with picture of Adrienne in backgroundAs if it were nothing more than a minor aside, the article’s author then immediately shifts away to other information. A woman was found dead in her holding cell directly near the courtroom she had been in earlier that day, where she pleaded not guilty to assault and battery of a police officer, and all she had was a fairly vague paragraph.

If she were an anti-ICE protestor, as the article seemingly implied, then this would be a major escalation, as she would be the first anti-ICE protestor to die in Los Angeles. This would have been the direct fault of the state, in particular ICE and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD), which was in charge of her detention at the time. Even if she weren’t, the seeming lack of details and the fact that it took multiple months for this tragic story to be reported on at all seemed perplexing and worth investigation.

  1. Yeah, it's super fucked up. But you've still got libs on this very platform talking about how the people in masks and flak jackets on the streets aren't really ICE or law enforcement but some kind of super-secret faker cabal. Elites will never own up to what is happening. This is just part of that.

  3. Blame the awful legacy media and people on this website like Jamelle Bouie and Will Bunch and Kevin Kruse

They should be digging in on this sort of thing

Instead, they parrot old news and repost what has already been reported.

Our institutions are failing us. So is our media and its voices

  4. At least 33 people have already died in LA County jails so far this year, more than the total for all of last year. In-custody deaths should be rare if LASD properly cared for its inmates. The Courts should order many people released until LASD gets it act together (unlikely) or is disbanded.
