I have written articles and testified to Congress about the subject. I think the article and my comments in the news article are accurate. But I certainly don’t mean to mislead anyone. Sorry.

But the use of live facial recognition is new. Most other cities have used stills, not live matches. It is the beginning of something bad.
What Andrew Ferguson, an expert on big data policing, says in this piece:
“The simple truth of digital surveillance is that if you build it, it will be used, and likely used against those with the least amount of political power.”

Departments aren't reviewing or disclosing AI-written police reports—which are now being used in plea deals.
True test to see if a prosecutor can indict the proverbial ham sandwich.
But seriously, it will be interesting to see how grand juries and juries in DC handle these cases. It’s easier to arrest than convict especially if citizen juries want to send a message.
