Is he dead yet?

  1. 200 days into Trump's term, where are we?

In the race between Trump's authoritarianism and efforts to resist it, authoritarianism is ahead. And while there are hopeful signs from the public, the chance of effective resistance is, for now, being fatally undermined by the capitulation of the elites.

  2. Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” will spend more than $50 billion per year privatizing public schools in America.   We should not have a two-tier education system — private schools for the rich & well-connected, severely underfunded public schools for low-income & working class kids.

  3. The highest levels of the Trump administration are collaborating with the FBI and DOJ to cover-up evidence the President committed sexual crimes against children.

Unspeakably corrupt, and not a single Republican in Congress can be expected to speak out against it.

  4. "We're proud of our history"??? He is talking specifically about monuments glorifying Confederate leaders and soldiers who warred against the Union in a desperate attempt to dissolve the Union in order to continue enslaving people. Petey should be aware that there will be no monument for him.

  5. Karen Henderson is the longest-serving Republican appointee on the D.C. Circuit. She’s deeply conservative but not Trumpy.

In ordering the Trump administration to restore a congressionally mandated database of federal spending, she strongly suggests the president is engaging in king-like behavior.

Screenshot of opinion by Judge Karen Henderson:

KAREN LECRAFT HENDERSON, Circuit Judge, statement respecting the denial of a stay pending appeal:

“Throughout the 1600s, the Stuart monarchs engaged in a titanic struggle with Parliament regarding who would reign supreme over the public purse. That struggle was marked by civil war, regicide and a new wellspring of liberty in the Glorious Revolution of 1688.
By the end of the upheaval, Parliament emerged supreme in matters of taxation and spending. Our Constitution followed suit, granting the Congress plenary control over the public fisc.

Recently, the Executive has once again locked horns in a struggle for control over the purse strings. Across a slew of cases, recipients of congressional funding have challenged the President's ability to unilaterally freeze or "impound" spending.' Today's case is but the latest chapter in the ongoing saga.”
