Something about it sits wrong with me.

It worries me when trauma is erased rather than worked through; when physical disability is magically disappeared; when there is a pre-approved list of things to still squabble about and no other conflict exists; when everyone is neatly paired up and history and context and cultural norms erased.

I can enjoy a happy ending, but it worries me when I see people force the same form of it on wildly different characters in very different contexts. It worries me when it trims the edges off anything that does not fit into a house that smells of freshly baked cookies and a dog and a few children.

I really do wish that miniseries were more common, instead of the so common movie/tv series canceled after 1-3 seasons/run into ground after 5-17 seasons we get. I can think of so many stories that would have done much better with both room to breathe and a clear finish line in sight.
